I haven't read anything on the forum regarding this particular model, I have scoured for hours and have found nothing, is there a thread or person that can help me?

That depends on what you need. Something very specific to the Boost Mobile version, something specific to the Sprint phone or something about the S3 or 4.4.2 in general?

My apologies i want to root or jailbreak if not both, and to figure if one needs to be done before the other and the process to go about it.

Check Settings/General/About device/Kernel. If the date is earlier than June 3, 2014, use Towel Root. If it''s later, there's a way to install an earlier kernel, root, then reinstall the current kernel, but I wouldn't attempt it if you don't know what you're doing.
