Galaxy S3 I9300 - Can't get into Download Mode

I have a Samsung S3 I9300 which I want to root. However I can't get in to Download Mode. I press the Volume Down, Home, and Power buttons together and all I get is the Android Robot lying on its back with a red exclamation mark. :'( Any ideas? Thanks!

what is your current OS version? What network are you on?
There's a one-click option for rooting. look for KingoAndroid Root ...

1 - Turn off Mobile properly wait at least 20 sec before Apply No 2
2 - turn it on by Hold Volume down + Home button + Power button (Do as mentioned) and then warning window



will show up press volume up and its done.

I have the same exact problem! Except, its with the SGH-I897. And i dont have the time to purchase the dongle or make one...:'(

I have the same exact problem!

Have you booted into Download mode successfully before or is this your first time trying? I ask because it is somewhat timing dependent, and your best bet is to start with the phone completely off (ala battery pull).

Are you also getting the Android guy laying down? It's been so long since I've seen it that I can't remember what it says, so if you can quote the important part that would be helpful.

Will the phone boot into Recovery mode?
