Hi,

I am looked several hours for a response to my question, but have not found any answers. I have recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I am looking for a higher capacity battery, but one that is the same size as the original. I am not looking for the extended batteries that have new backs that come with the sale. The battery should be able to slide right into the phone and attach the original cover. I am perfectly alright with spending a decent amount of money for the improved battery.

Thanks.

There is no battery with noticeably higher capacity and the same physical size. There are several that advertise a marginal increase in mAh, but they seem to last about the same as stock. You either just need to have extra stock size batteries, or a larger capacity battery with a larger replacement back cover.

I bought the Qcell battery set from amazon.com, it had 2 stock size batteries and a wall charger for $25, free shipping if you have a Prime membership.

Any battery that is the same size as stock and claims any kind of significant capacity claim over the stock battery is overstating their capacity and isn't worth the money. Seidio has been found guilty of overstating their battery capacity on their slim batteries and charging an arm and a leg for it as well.

If Samsung, a multinational multi-billion dollar conglomerate can't fit any more capacity in a given space, how would a rinky dink company who more than likely sources batteries from China somehow magically fit more mah in the same space? These guys do not have millions and millions going into R&D.

It is snake oil.

So they can make more money from people needing more batteries?

I'm actually waiting for someone to give hard data on amazon and ebay batteries (average battery life over a certain number of days, phone heating up more often, comparisons, etc.)
I mean a lot of people bash these batteries but maybe I'm missing some reviews/data. If not, I might just spend like $20 on a couple different "high capacity" batterys and just try them out myself.

I'll be very interested if it existed. If anyone finds something like this, please let me know~ ;)

I'll let you know. I bought a pair of Anker batteries and the charger for about $15 for my old Thunderbolt that I rooted.

I hear good things about the brand.

Oh, and and trust me, if companies like HTC who get crapped on all the time could build a better battery in a smaller form factor, but don't you think they would? It's a huge competitive advantage, far more than what some post sale battery sales will get you.

I bought an external battery (5200) for my TBolt and guess what? I can now use it for my S3. No issues about fit!

Not for everyone but works for me. :)

How about external battery? Seems a lot guys talk about it. Also one of my friend suggest the Ravpower rp-pb03 5600mah battery.
