Galaxy S3 - Message Not Sent, Code: -1

Guys, I'm pretty stumped on this one. I'm trying to send a message to a particular contact, and the attempt fails, giving me the following:

"Code: -1
Error: Message to <number> not sent. Please try again later."

I've tried rebooting my phone, deleting the thread, clearing the app data, and retyping the message, but to no avail. I've found that I am able to send a message to another person, who happens to be on my network (Virgin Mobile), and another friend who's on a different network. I'm also getting plenty of bars in addition to 4G LTE. I have not tried sending a message to anyone else other than the 3 mentioned so far.

I've tried searching for anything on Code -1, but I haven't found anything. I also find the -1 peculiar.

Any suggestions?

Are you sending SMS or MMS?
Are you using the stock Messaging app or a 3rd party app?
Did this ever work?
