Hi,

This December I got a new, white Samsung Galaxy S3 on a Sprint sub-service (Credo Mobile). The screen was cracked a while back and I just got a new case and a replacement screen, which I hadn't put in yet. Then I went off to a lacrosse camp, on turf, in 90+ degree weather. My phone was in the stick pocket (a very small pocket) for about an hour and a half. When I pulled it out, an eighth of the screen was black and another half had a purplish tint. Over the next few days it filled up completely with black. The buttons still work fine, I can play music with the play button on my headphones, vibrate works etc. The only thing wrong is that the display isn't visible and the touch digitizer doesn't work. What do I need to replace if it is possible at all? I am still way in contract so getting a new one would blow hard!

Thanks and sorry if the post was too lengthy (first time), Jack T

The biggest thing is if you need a new digitizer, it will be expensive. May as well get another phone, do you have insurance on the phone?

sent from my GS3 running Wicked

Thanks for the response,

Unfortunately no, I don't have insurance and as it is still in contract I'm thinking that a $200 replacement AMOLED is a better choice. I really just want to know if anyone thinks that it might be something else that just the new digitizer, etc. won't fix.

Thanks, Jack T
