Over the last few days I have been having trouble with my S4 being able to connect to GPS. I have been trying to use the Google Navigation and when I enter the address it keesp searching for GPS Signal and never connects unless I pull down the top bar from my screen, turn off and on the GPS then it finds a GPS signal right away.

Anyone else experience this issue and is there a way to get it to work without having to turn off GPS and back on?

Having similar issue, when going into Google Maps -> navigation. Get Searching for GPS signal, and turn-by-turn navigation and voice not working. Toggling GPS on/off not working, location will update but often up to several miles away from actual location, then just freeze.

GPS will pick up my location at home, office in maps, but having problems as soon as I go into Navigation.

Received an update to JB 4.3 from Verizon over the weekend, and also installed Samsung KNOX - not sure if either is responsible - may try to uninstall.

Maps/Navgation was working fine prior to past weekend.

I'm having the same problem after Verizon Wireless software upgrade earlier this week. No problems before the upgrade. Now when I use Google Maps navigation, I get message "Waiting for location..." and nothing happens after that. Also, yesterday I tried to use an app for hiking--the phone never was able to determine my location or create a track.

I had the same problem, post 4.3 update. I also tried to toggle on/off the GPS. What I discovered that fixed mine was: go to settings> more> location services and make sure the box for Google Wi-Fi & Mobile Network Location is checked. Once I did that, my navigation problems seem to have disappeared. Good Luck...

It's a upgrade bug.
Do the following:

Go to Settings >
More>
Application Manager>
Maps>
Clear data/cache then uninstall updates
once it's done>
Hit home key
Open Google Play and re update maps.

This will stop your GPS fix issue. It's due to the updates not rewriting over files correctly (most of the time).

Thank you.
This worked for me.
It was really bothering me because it affected several applications.
