Galaxy s4 (i9500)16GB shows only 8GB after flashing a rom

So hi guys this is my first post so yaaay,whatever. So i flashed a rom of vanilla android called supernexus 3.0 on my Galaxy s4 i9500 and it shows that the internal storage of my phone is only 8332 mb like 8GB even in TWRP it shows that my internal storage is only 8GB.Please guys help me.

Hello and welcome to AC.

First.. Lets say at least a good 3-5 gigabyte is gone right off the top for the OS and associated apps, data, etc...

Second. The device is partitioned so there will be a fair amount of space for the OS to use and then the remaining for the user as internal storage.

If you were to go to your device Settings and under Storage that should give you a better idea of what and where your total space went to.

To expand on one of Paul's points: the device is partitioned...so the storage is split into different areas like "data" and "system". Just because you install a smaller ROM into the system partition, that doesn't mean all that extra space is going to magically move over to data for you to use. It's still going to be empty space that can't really be used in the system partition...and Android will recognize it as such.

There's no safe way to re-partition your phone to reclaim that space.
