I recently switched to a samsung galaxy s4 from iphone. I purchased music in the google play store and i am unable to transfer purchased music from the play store to my music app with my playlists. From looking on the internet it appears this isnt an option. Any suggestions on where to purchase music that can transfer to my music playlists or how this can be done? Please note i am new to android and its capabilities.

If you bought the music from google play music (not streaming or subscribed) you are allowed to download the MP3 file. Which will play in your Samsung music applications.
You can always just use the google play music application to play your music which doesnt require you to download the music

Or I would use Amazon MP3 to buy and download music.
But either way should work

Are you paying for the Google music subscription monthly? Because technically none of that is your music. You would have to download it to your device in order to play it in a different media player. And also remember that your playlist is not the same as your library.

Purchased songs you add to the playlist will be added to your Google Music playlist, still not accessible by third party apps. If you've bought individual songs/albums from Google Play Music, you have to install the companion app on your PC. From there, the app will allow unlimited MP3 downloads (without the app you only get one).
