What was in the update will depend on your carrier and whether it was an Android update or a firmware update. It will be difficult or impossible for anyone to give you info. on what the update does without that information. You can go to Settings - More - About phone to see the current Android version and Baseband (firmware) version.

Take a screen shot. Hold front thumb button and power at same time. Attach screen shot to post. When it takes it you will hear a camera sound and a white outline on the screen. You will also get a notification too.
