Galaxy S4: Screen capture does not work!!!!!!

I got the S4 and screen capture does not work. I try everything that I knew. I am a previous owner of a S3, so I know some of the tricks already. But not working for me. Please help!!!!

Did you try holding down your power button and hard key at the same time for a minute?

Try the home button and power at the same time.

You can also wipe the screen with your palm and it will capture the screen.

Please check your settings Mydevice>Motions and Gestures>Palm motion is on>tap on Palm motion text>turn on Capture screen>tap on Capture Screen text to try it.

Also please note that the side of your hand needs to be touching the screen then swipe to the left or right.

Mine too! I turned on the palm gesture and it is still not working! Is this a bug or some kind of a factory/configuration problem?
Manual screen capture (home key + power button) works perfectly. Will this be fixed? Please comment.

Wow! Thank you for mentioning that the side of my hand actually needs to TOUCH the screen for the gesture to work. As you can imagine, I've been waving my hand over the screen to no avail. LOL!

Yes your palm has to touch the screen for it to work. Used to do it on my Note and it works just the same.

I would just add that for me it sometimes takes several tries with the hand-swipe to get it to capture. You have to hold down the power+home key combination for a full second before it "snaps," but I find that more reliable.

Should be called 'side of hand' gesture. I tried and tried to slide my PALM across it! LOL I'm so embarrassed...not really.

Only bad part is touching the side on the glass will move an image, if it something you have zoomed in on. I use this as a fast crop and the gesture won't work for this. Will have to resort to the normal way of both buttons.

Xblast tools (an xposed module) includes an advanced power-off menu (the menu that comes up when you long press power button). If i press reboot here, I get 5 choices: reboot, soft reboot, fastboot, recovery, SCREEN SHOT. Easier imo than trying to hit home and power button at exactly the same time. But you have to have xposed and xblast and maybe root

You know, I hate to grind, but people! Suggesting -how- to do the screenshot is as about as unhelpful as posting a question without detail. (Like "HELP!" This thing ain't working!") We can assume the OP has already tried the obvious. In fact, other help missed a crucial point; one must hold down for a FULL second. Coming from other devices can be obfuscating. My HTC screenshot was instantaneous.

i can't i tried to press and it does not work and when i click into the gesture setting it does not have the palm motion at all

Mine won't work either by pressing simultaneously the power and home buttons or the palm swipe. Interestingly if I press the power button first (keep holding it) and then the home button it changes the screen to a windowed view. If I press the home button first (and keep holding it) and then the power button and keep holding both then the screen capture never works and phone will eventually power down.

I made sure all my settings are correct and both buttons work correctly with everything else. It's an annoyance not having the screen capture work!
