Galaxy S5 camera and screen auto rotate just gave up on trying.

I've tried deleting some recent apps, cleared cache, googled, tried Bing!, and even Yahoo!, but still got nowhere. I'm not really wanting to do a factory reset because I apparently can't figure out how to properly backup my device. Sometimes it will auto rotate and sometimes it won't. Anyone else having this problem recently?

While you're here enjoy this kitten dressed up like a bat.

So weird. Yes, mine just started doing it. My husband has the S5 too, and his is doing the same. Hope this stops!

Ok, ran across another post.. Go in to settings.. Display... Screen Rotation. See if it is either disabled or if that box, smart rotation, is checked. Uncheck it. I had somehow disabled the auto rotation in there.

Also noticed that when I reboot it doesn't show the padlock anymore (I'm rooted) I'll try what you did and see if it works. Thanks.

Drag down the notification bar and click the icon in the top right corner. See 1st picture to access the notification icons menu. Make sure that (if you want the icon there) that screen rotation is there and then make sure it is enabled (icon is green) see 2nd picture.

Yah that's done. It's something ****ery because I've noticed sometimes when I reboot my phone the padlock for my root doesn't show up.

Unchecked auto rotate, power off/ back on, and recheck auto rotate.
