I've heard lollipop is now out for download in the UK so I keep trying to get it as an OTA update on my unlocked S5 but each time I do it says my S5 is already up to date! Is anyone else having a similair problem? I don't have access to Kies so I can't do it that way.

It may just be rolling out in batches. They do that to keep folks from spamming the servers for the download all at once. Give it a few days, it should show up soon. :)

I downloaded via Kies last night. Not impressed with Lollipop. Wouldn't be in a busting rush to upgrade IMHO.

Lollipop has slowed my S5 to a crawl and the battery life is twice as bad.

Did you factory? You have to really.
Having said that, I have installed both UK roms and they were slow and buggy as Hell.
I'm now running the Spanish lollipop Rom, so far so good...

I installed lollipop on mine using Kies and it's fine, smooth, fast, but battery life is horrendous

I heard all about the S4/S5 battery life being 2nd to none, I got longer out of my old Lumia, even with the screen turned down to only millimetres away from lowest, I can sit and watch the battery % drop one by one

Battery usage info tells me it's the screen with the highest use, everything else is barely touching it - I can't turn the screen down any lower unless I lived in a cave, at night, with an owl

Read all the battery saving tips kicking about the net, and tbh, if I wanted a phone with no sensors working, no wifi, barely readable screen, I'd have bought a potato

Yes its annoying not able to use silence mode instead of having vibrate and ringer

MacroDroid is another app that can be used to silence the phone during "quiet time" hours.

I use about 10 macros on my phone for different reasons.

One of which is Silence between 2200-0600 hours

I updated my Samsung Galaxy S5 to Lollipop on Thursday via Kies, and its made my phone even worse. The lag is unbearable and last night i fully charged my phone and within 3 hours it was down to 7%. I've had to clear the cache partition multiple times. I think im going to do a clean install of Lollipop to see if that helps. If i was to give any advice i would wait for 5.1 before updating!

Started to use Google Now Launcher and its made it so much better... for now

Ok Been testing this and it's not the rom slowing down your phone but a third party app, if you do a factory wipe this will sort out the issues.
The reason for this is Android has not added it's own App optimization, this is so apps do work after a update, instead of failing or cause issues.
Now for the user it will notify the app developer so App developer's make sure there Apps are upto date
That's the idea
But I have found when updating a factory wipe clears all issues
As for the Rom well I'm not impressed fare to much white and pastle colours, the white drains battery life.
The lac of customization is realy bad they can sort this with a simple colour chooser under the Accessibility section
The invert colours does work but makes Apps look horrible.
As for OTA No there are no plans as this is classed as a Major update so kies is needed and a USB 2 only lead not there USB 3 lead.
Now for all that don't like lollipop you can safely roll it back using kies.
Using there firmware authorisation tool pop in your model and serial number it will then offer all the stock roms it has on file it will have Kittkat pic thar rom and kies does The rest

Hello...I'm new here today...courtesy of the Lollipop upgrade, I too can no longer have silent mode without vibration, I cannot change the colour scheme of certain things, the battery life is appalling, I have battery doctor installed too. I wish I had never upgraded I have only had my phone 2 weeks and I loved it up until yesterday. Also it's rubbish with Facebook, cannot tag people...not a happy person at all. I'm hoping as things progress the problems get rectified...fingers crossed! I'm in the UK too...sulking!!

I too updated to Lollipop and regret it bitterly.
I do not have the full interuptions settings, torch or smart unlock and the battery is draining much much quicker. I am very disappointed as i LOVED the phone before doing this update. Can i confirm with those in the know that i can roll it back to Kitkat on Kies 3???? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE say i can!!!!!

Torch is a widget, took me a while to remember where I'd seen it too

Not sure about rolling back with KIES, I tried and it said my phone wouldn't let me, but you can with stock firmware and ODIN
