Galaxy S5 only charges when turned off, help!!!!!

Hi,

I have a Samsung galaxy S5 and never had problems. Now since a few days I have charging problems.
This is what happens:
- When the phone is ON, it looks like the phone detects the charger and immediately disscontects the charger. This repeats the whole time till I disconnect the charger.
- Sometimes when the phone is ON it does not detect the charger.
- The phone only charges when the phone is OFF!!!

The problems is not the charger or the battery since I have an other S5 and replaced the battery and charge. The problem still remains.

I've read in the forum that sometimes a factory restore helps. I have done the factory reset but the problem still remains!

Any suggestions?

Check the microUSB port to make sure there isn't any debris in there -- use a can of compressed air to blow it out. Also inspect the pins in there -- do they look bent or damaged at all?

I have already tried to clean the connector with a can of compressed air.
I did not check the pins of damage. I will do that.
But if it was damaged I would not charge when the phone was OFF correct?

I would still suspect some hardware issue, which would require a trip to the repair shop to further diagnose. One other thing to try would be to see if this persists in Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28456
