I've had my S6 for a little over a year now and have had nothing but issues. Dying battery glitches etc. I took it in during the summer and had the software rebooted and it helped a little. Winter is here, and the static in my room has been very bad. Anytime I touch my phone and feel static shock, it shuts down and won't turn back on. Despite not being plugged in, it will get VERY hot, to the point where I have to put it in the fridge to cool off a little (I never let it get cold, just not so hot it burns me). It's done this a couple times now, and usually after a couple hours, it turns back on. What can I do to prevent this? It's shut down right now and I have no clue how to turn it back on or if it will.

Looks like a battery failure. Send it in to a repair centre and get the battery replaced and for them to diagnose the phone further. Never seen any problem like yours.
