Galaxy s6. How do i get the S6 to stay in sync wirth deleted gmail contacts?

I had 1000+ contacts in Gmail and I synced my new S6 ... opps. Ok, so after a few hours I got it down to 200 valid contacts. What's the easiest way to remove the 800 contacts on my S6 to match my cleaned up gmail account?

If you have sync enabled, the phone should eventually sync up. Unless you have unlimited data, keep it on wifi for a while.
