Android Central Question

I am trying to turn on fingerprint lock. When I click on "+ Add Fingerprint" I immediately get an error message saying "Make sure that the Home key is clean and dry, then try again". When I click OK on the message it closes out of the add fingerprint screen straight away.
it is very much clean and dry.

Take a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol and gently wipe the Home button. If that doesn't fix it, if it's new try to get the phone replaced. If it's not, learn to live with it. That type f fingerprint reader (I had the same problem with a Pixel 2) is prone to what you have happening. It may clear up by itself. (After about 6 months of not working, I was able to add a fingerprint - without having done anything.)
