Android Central Question

Hello,
I have been using Galaxy S7 for a few months and recently changed to a different carrier.
My phone connected to LTE with the previous carrier (Rogers in Canada) but now I am with Bell Mobility and my phone won't connect to their LTE.
When I turn on data, basically nothing happens.

1. I have talked to 4 Bell tech support agents, made sure the APN settings are correct.
2. I did a factory reset twice.
3. I tried the SIM on my old S4 and it has the LTE connection.
4. I took the phone to a Samsung repair store and they said the hardware has no problem.
5. I installed an app to force LTE connection.
All these did not solve the issue.

Is there anything else I can do?
Thank you.

Could it be a European or Asian model, and have limited LTE bands? Maybe Rogers shares one of those bands, BUT Bell does not?

Check the phone variant for LTE frequencies, then check with Bell and ask if you can find out which frequency (or band - the listing of the phone's frequencies should shoe them as something like 12(700) - that's band 12, 700 MHz. If the phone variant doesn't do the band that Bell is using in your area for LTE, you can't get LTE from Bell with that phone.

Hello, this is the OP. (Now I have an ID :))
I found Bell's LTE band info here.

HSPA+ network uses the 850 and 1900 MHz frequencies
LTE B4 (1700/2100 AWS 1), B7 (2600)

Then my S7 (global version) band info;
LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 18(800), 19(800), 20(800), 25(1900), 26(850), 28(700), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)

On the other hand, S7 Canadian version's bands are;
LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 18(800), 19(800), 20(800), 25(1900), 29(700), 30(2300), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)

Sorry, I don't understand much about the frequency stuff.
Did I make a mistake by getting the Global version instead of Canadian version?

It sounds like you have the correct LTE networks on the global device. I'm stumped as to why its not working. Hopefully someone else will come along with more knowledge. You have already tried the things I could suggest.

It's me again, OP. :)
I am about to give up on Bell Mobility after a month of non-stop searching for an answer, and go back to Rogers network.
Now I am thinking about going with a small carrier called Petro-Canada Mobility that uses Rogers network.
On their website it says "Your phone must be HSPA (UMTS) and 850 MHz and 1900 MHz compatible" and I can't seem to figure out how to read this off of my post above where it shows compatible bands.

Then my S7 (global version) band info;
LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 18(800), 19(800), 20(800), 25(1900), 26(850), 28(700), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)

Petro-Canada uses 850 and 1900 MHz, does that mean I find those numbers from my phone's band numbers?
Because I don't see 850 and 1900 unless there are in ( ).

Sorry for all the questions but I am just so tired of trying to figure it out and trying to move on by staying away with Bell. :(

Even Bell Mobility's map shows the area I live is covered but for some reason my phone won't connect to their network.

I just want to know how to read the frequencies because Petro-Canada says "Your phone must be HSPA (UMTS) and 850 MHz and 1900 MHz compatible" and don't want to find out my phone isn't compatible after switching the carrier.
