I'll probably still use the fingerprint scanner. It didn't work well for me on the note 7.

That is iris scanner on note 7. This is different.

That would be awesome. I use facial recognition on my Microsoft Surface Book and it works really well. If Samsung's application of the software is similar, I may have to get an S8 then!

I'm excited to see this new feature on the S8's

When I first got my Note 7 last summer with its Iris Scanner I had thought it would just be a temporary fad but I found myself unlocking my phone 99% of the time using it. Depending on how well this facial recognition works I can see using it often.

It was disappointing to see the placement of the finger scanner being high on top next to the camera lens but it just may be a moot point if it wont be used ??

Exactly!!! One of the main reasons my Note 7 was the best phone I've ever had. Can't wait for the Note 8 pre-order

headsup....new facial recognition posted on web somehow, someone said they used a photo of person who held it, and unlocked it.they did that for fun..wasnt funny. im sure samsung will fix that. but facial wont work for payments only fingerprint.
