Has the video call option built into galaxy s8 been removed? Or is there a setting I need to activate?

Currently using Skype but would use built in software if it's still available

It's still there. Find your contact, tap on the name of the one you want to call and the call options are there on the bottom.

Ok...so does that mean it's a carrier restriction... I still don't have that option?

Having the same problem!
Used it in my S5 without a problem, but can't figure out what the problem is that it is not working in the S8+

I'm having the same the issue with video calling, please advise. I've tried video calling my children who also have the s8 and it does not work.

Do you have a video calling option in the settings in the phone? I had to enable mine manually.

As far as I know, native video calling from the dialer is a specific feature of T-Mobile, and was only implemented for the T-Mobile version of the S8/S8+. It's also available on previous Samsung phones down to the Note 4, as well as on some LG phones. Of all the people on my contacts, the only ones I'm able to video call are my mom (Note 5) and dad (Note 4). Heck, I can't even video call my wife since she has an iPhone!
@mrpopcorn what carrier do you use? Aside from T-Mobile I'm not aware of any other carrier who has implemented video calling.

I'm pretty sure that feature is on every carrier. I'm on Verizon and I had that feature since the Note 5. You can only use it when you're talking to someone with the same carrier.

It's not on the us unlocked version as far as I'm aware. I'm.on T-Mobile and don't have it.

If you have Verizon, call them and they will activate it. I came from a 6P and was having the same issue and they were able to correct it.

Wow, didn't know that. Maybe some day we'll even get inter-carrier support!
