Galaxy s8 some photos are low quality all of a sudden

I noticed some of my photos in my gallery on my Galaxy s8 are low quality. They used to be normal quality. Also I can't import them to my laptop. They just don't show up in my DCIM folder. The photos that are normal quality, I can import to my laptop just fine. Is there a way I can fix the quality of the photos? If not, how can I prevent it from happening again?

Do you think you might have accidentally used a different camera app to take these new photos?

Welcome to Android Central! Using your Gallery app, look at the Info/Details of one of those photos. What directory is it in? It might be a thumbnail you're looking at, which might mean that the main photo got deleted somehow.

Are all of your photos on Internal Storage or the SD card?
