Galaxy s8+ unlocked with full functions on Verizon?

I am thinking of switching to Verizon from Sprint. I was going to go with TMobile but decided on Verizon as none of their phones have their new band on them as of yet?

Anyways i was thinking of getting the Galaxy S8+(SM-G955U) unlocked but after doing some research online found out that on Verizon it will not be able to pick up 2G or 3G. It will just pick up 4G LTE. Is this true? I found this on https://willmyphonework.net/ . I would want 2G and 3G to work as i go to rural places a lot and without it would have no signal? Would it be best to get a Galaxy S+ SM-G955V so i can pick up 2G and 3G?

You can flash the unlocked software onto your s8+. Would get 2g/3g/4g all bands
