Galaxy S9+ media audio only coming out of earphone

So when ever I try to connect my Bluetooth to my car or my headphones the phone thinks its in a call. So any music or podcast that I listen to it sounds like a phone call. When I disconnect the Bluetooth sound will only come out of the earphone and not the speakers. I found that restarting the phone will fix the problem but if I have Bluetooth on when I restart the phone it will try to connect again and the problem starts all over again. I have cleared the cache, reset all Bluetooth settings, and unpair and pair the headphones and car and both issues still exist. Any suggestions?
