Galaxy Tab S2 8.4 reboots itself, or shuts itself down

My new tab was rebooting every 20 seconds. I tried to use recovery, just to delete cache, and now it turns itself off every 20 seconds.

Really don't want to wipe it if I can avoid it, any ideas?

Re: Galaxy Tab S2 8.4 reboots itself, or shuts itself down

Try starting your tab in Safe Mode to determine if it's an app causing your problem. If it still constantly restarts, you might have to do a factory reset (in recovery) as the next troubleshooting step. Be sure to backup any data before a factory reset as you'll certainly lose it!

So it's a new device, less than one week, so I did a factory reset, and it even reboots during the process, so halfway through formatting, it rebooted.

It has done enough formatting or something to at least start with the "Welcome" and set up pages. It crashes after 20 seconds still. In safe mode it's the same. :-(

Well Safe mode was just to isolate if some app was causing the problem. Since it's messed up even in safe mode, you should try to return it for a replacement from where ever you bought it.

Yer, that's what Samsung said. Problem is I bought the device in London, and am now in Italy, not returning to London until June.

You have to return within 30 days for replacements / refund :-(

I will have to post it and hope it arrives in one piece, and then hope a friend can schlepp all the way downtown to where I bought it... not going to be easy.

I advise you email both the place you got the tab from and Samsung. Be sure to include the serial number of the tab so that both places have information about the problem. The email will act like a notification so later they can't deny you told them about it. Let them also know your present situation being in Italy to see what they say. The important thing is to get an email trail going.

Good luck! I hope it works out for you!
