Galaxy Tablet: Can you lock screen so that it does not change if touched.

Strange question I know... we have a 9 month old and we are in the car a lot so we have baby einstein playing on the galaxy table for him. I have it rigged up so it hangs just below the rear facing mirror I use to see him on the head rest. Problem is he's getting tall enough now that his little feet can touch the screen which always ends up pausing or turning off the viseos. Does anyone know of a way to keep this from happening? Is there a setting to lock the screen while in use?.. if that makes any sense at all

I have the most up-to-date version of android on this tablet
