Galaxy Tablet P1010 GPS

The GPS on my tablet works fine if I set the destination when I am withing wi fi range.
However, when on the move I get the message 'data stream lost'.
Anybody know why this is and how to correct it?

It was designed for 3g/4g use and expects a signal at all times. I use a Virgin Mifi and it works great with the 3d maps. I got the Virgin / Wal-Mart special, 1gig for $20 a month and I have not used the gig yet in four months. Today I installed Netflix and expect to move up to unlimited for $55 by next week.

i dont think i made myself clear.
if i set the destination in a wi fi area the gps works fine even when i move out of the wi fi range.
it is only when i try to set a new journey, like the return trip. that it gives the message data stream lost.

When you are out of the WiFi range,‭ “‬data stream lost‭” ‬message appears because your Tablet does not receive W-Fi network in the particular location.
