Hi all,

Trying go phone-less for my daily walks. I can't seem to figure out how to transfer podcasts to my new Galaxy Watch Active 2 (I assume the same applies to v1 Galaxy Watch Active). When investigating prior to the purchase I saw how one could sync up music from Samsung Wearable app. I figured podcasts being mp3 I should have no issues. Not so far.

I use Podcast Addict on my Galaxy S10 phone. I changed app' podcast download folder to phone's Music folder but Samsung Wearable app ignores the new folder contents while happily showing all the music I have there. So that's been no go.

I have no premium Spotify account and have no desire to get one. So that's out too.

Tried new podcast app for Samsung wearables called Poddy. It's been unstable and pretty much locks up on me. So that's out.

Does anyone have any ideas on other ways of transferring podcasts to Samsung watch active? Is there anything I'm missing in Samsung Wearable app? Thanks so much.

I don't have any watch with the Samsung OS, but is there a way of manually copying files to it? A USB connector? (And do you have an .mp3 player app on the watch?)

Not really. You'd use their Wearable app to sync music wirelessly via Bluetooth presumably. The interface for picking that music is kind of cumbersome if you just wanna pick select files from the long list.

After further investigation, I finally figured it out. In Podcast Addict under Settings, Download make sure to check "Share with other apps" checkbox, and change download folder to system's Music folder. If podcast still don't show up in Wearable app use the following link to reset system's media cache:

I created an account just to say thank you for figuring out this workaround. Up until the past few weeks, I’ve been able to find podcasts and send them to my watch using the Wear app just fine. With the most recent update that seems to have disappeared and Samsung’s support was telling me to use Spotify (yeah, no thanks. I shouldn’t have to pay for a subscription just to put music files on my watch). Your solution worked great...thank you!

Same here! Thanks OP. I've been trying to figure out how to listen to podcasts without taking my phone. I'm definitely trying this out. I use player fm for podcasts. Hope it works out.

After many hours of trying to figure this out . . . here's a workaround that works. I used PODCAST ADDICT and PI MUSIC PLAYER. I'm not paid by either of these companies and others might do the trick, but this is what I used and it works.

1. Open Podcast Addict: change the download location folder to one of your choosing. That way you can find it when you want to. I chose "music" and it automatically created a subfolder named "podcast". That's fine but that adds an extra step.

2. Find your favorite podcast. Download it. It will now download into the file you chose in step 1.

3. IMPORTANT: your desired files must be in the "music" folder of your phone. Plug your phone into your desktop. Explore your phone to navigate to the folder where you downloaded your podcast files. For me it's phone-music-podcasts. You need to make sure your music and podcasts are visible in your MUSIC folder. In my case I select my podcasts from my "podcast" folder, then copy and paste them (back one folder) into my "music" folder.

4. Open Pi Music player on your phone. In the Pi app on your phone, you should now see the music/podcast files you just put into your "music" folder on your desktop.

5. In Pi Music Player, choose the files one at a time or select all, then using the hamburger menu, choose share-send to gear. Make sure your watch is close by and connected by bluetooth.

6. Voila! Mystery solved after many hours.

I also created a new account on this site, just to provide this info. Thanks to all who came before me. You were helpful in guiding me to the final solution.
