Galaxy Watch Directing Calls to Phone Since Recent Software Update

[Android Central Question]

My samsung galaxy R805U watch has changed how calls are answer since the recent software update. Once I answer the call when connected to the watch it displays "Check your phone" and then I'm directed to continue the conversation through my connected phone. I'm accustomed to being able to take the call on the watch and if I want to transfer it I can do so by selecting the bluetooth option on my phone. I want this feature back the way it was as often times I'm far away from my phone and the person who calls is sitting there while I'm scrambling to get to my phone. This is only when the phone and watch are paired. Does anyone know how to switch this feature back?

No such thing as a gear s4 did you try a soft reset?
