Galaxy Watch, No Notification Alert

Bought 2 Galaxy watches and one Active. Returned them all. I was not receiving notification alerts. All the setting were adjusted properly and I messed around with them for a long time. I would see texts, emails and what not ONLY when I opened the watch which defeats the purpose. There would be no vibrations, the watch would not light up, nothing. I reset the watches multiple times and reinstalled the app many times too. I don't need a watch. I just thought it would be a nice accessory. Anyone else having these issues.

It might be helpful to move this to the Galaxy Watch forum, if you'd like. It seems to be a more specific question about the watches, rather than the Note9 (and the Galaxy Watch forum gets a decent amount of traffic). Let me know if you'd be ok with moving it there.
