Galaxy watch ultra not locking

Hi. I've had my ultra since release. I came from the GW 5pro, and wish I never switched.

I've done a factory reset twice, but the problems are still there.

The smaller issues are things like it'll stop counting steps. It'll randomly, simply just, stop counting steps. A reboot fixes that for the day.

The bigger issue is that it won't lock when I remove it reliably. Every now and then, when I take the garbage watch off, the green light underneath will stay on and the watch fails to lock. It's concerning because if my watch ever fell off at work or, god forbid, gets stolen, anyone can use it to make purchases.

The whole not locking thing is so incredibly inconsistent. It'll lock when I take the watch off fairly reliably for a week and suddenly it will fail to lock again.

This watch is garbage. I've since removed all payments options on it. I've contemplated sending it in for warranty but I heard Samsung most likely won't repair it and send it back saying it's fixed.

I've also got the Care+ so I can just make a claim, which maybe I should do.

So I'm just curious, has anyone had this problem?
 
I have not experienced your exact problem where the watch fails to "lock" when you take it off. I share your disappointment with the Ultra though. Mine "locks" when it is still on my wrist. The Tap to Pay works sporadically (I started a thread on that topic). And, I don't get text notifications on the watch when it is away from the phone. I don't know if these problems are caused by the hardware, software or a combination.

I don't recall this many issues with my prior Sammy watches. FWIW.
