I have only had my Edge 4 days i noticed this morning my pictures were not showing in the gallery. I tried restarting and still not showing. They are on the device storage though. But i can not figure out how to get them back to the gallery. Strangely enough, the pictures I took yesterday are in the gallery.
I have called Tmobile and Samsung both Are unsure of the issue.

This is my last effort to get the problem resolved with this phone before I reset it.

Does anyone know how to resolve this or is a reset needed?

The pictures will show if a) the name of the file doesn't start with a dot (that's a hidden file), there's no file named .nomedia in the folder with the pictures (that's a signal to the media scanner to not scan that folder or its subfolders) and you didn't hide the pictures when you were in Gallery.

Gallery doesn't have a place to store pictures - media scanner scans the device at startup to find all media files and builds a database. Gallery looks int that database for file types it can display and where they are. (Which is why downloading a picture doesn't make it show in Gallery until you restart - downloading doesn't trigger media scanner to rescan, but taking a picture should.)

Move the pictures that don't show to a different folder. (If you took them with the camera, somewhere in the DCIM folder (make a new subfolder) would be good - DCIM is Digital Camera IMages - so you'll know where to look for them if you have to. (BTW, the Gallery "album" name is the name of the folder the pictures are in, so if you have a DCIM/Trip1/Car folder and a DCIM/Trip2/Car folder, you'll have 2 albums named Car.)
