Gallery search s9

[Android Central Question]

Hi I recently switched to the s9 and inserted my sd card. Now when I try to search through my pictures in the gallery it's only searching in one folder and not through all my pictures. How do I fix this?

That's odd, mine does search through all albums in the Gallery. Did you give it time to read the contents of the SD card? Have you rebooted since? T-Mobile variant here. Are you searching through the Gallery search bar or the My Files search? Shouldn't affect, but have you tried turning 'Image Analysis' on in the Gallery Setttings (if disabled)?

I've waited for the sd card to load. I've tries rebooting and also installed the update still not working properly.

I can see all the pictures and folders but when I go to search (by type, people, documents etc.) it only looks into one folder

dont you have to format the sd card?
