I wanted to take a minute to post about my experience with Samsung's latest offering, the Galaxy s6 edge. I have the 64gb gold model with T-mobile, and it is probably one of the worst phones that I have ever owned. Let me explain:

I have had every Samsung flagship in the past couple of years starting with the Galaxy S2. Then went to the S3, followed by the S4, then the Note 3, and Note 4. I skipped the S5 because I loved the Note line so much that I didn't even bother with it. I though the s6 Edge would be worth it but after a month and a half I regret making the move from my Note 4. I am a club/bar promoter and rely heavily on my phone for work/social purposes. The text messaging is so bad, worst lag ever. Apps take forever to load and open. The phone is just so slow and I have no idea why. Isn't this supposed to be a top tier, top of the line beast of a phone? Can someone suggest anything to help with the performance of this phone? I have tried everything. Even deleted 30k+ texts, wiped the phone and started from scratch. I do have about 150-175 apps on my phone. But i have 30gb+ of space available. It is so frustrating because right when I thought Samsung finally designed a gorgeous phone, the damn thing feels like a S2!

Thanks for taking the time to read mt post. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Due to the fact that you're experiencing a lot of slow down my guess would be there are apps running in the background draining your resources.

Everyone's phone isn't having problems. 2 of them in this house. Best phones ever. No issues here. I agree with one of the previous post. Probably too many apps running. Go into the battery section in settings and find out what you have running.

so should i delete them?

I would. Contrary to what people know from PCs, Android is meant to take advantage of most of your available RAM. I am in agreement with others here that one of your many apps is hogging resources. Check the battery monitor and post back with what apps it shows. I think that's a good place to start.

Once you get whatever is causing your trouble this is the quickest phone on the market.

I too am a little disappointed lately. Not so long ago i was boasting about getting 8h30mins screen on time (and had the screenshots to prove it) Suddenly iam lucky if i get 6hours which to be fair is not bad, its decent but iam annoyed because i was getting 7-8 hours easily before! The only difference lately is that i upped my brightness from 20% to 40% although i now have location off where as before it was always on! I also aint using my phone for long periods at a time where as before i was so my "device idle" time is more now!

Before when i got to 50% i would have 4h30mins screen on time, now iam currently at 56% with only 2h22mins screen on time although device idle and cell standby are the second biggest battery drainers now with screen being the highest.

Is there something goin on here or did upping the brightness from 20% to 40% cause me to lose out on 2 hours screen on time despite location now being off ?

You really shouldn't be on here complaining if you get 5 sot or more. I average between 5 and 6 sot and I'm happy. Have never gotten that with any other phone. The other day my phone lasted 20 hours. I average 15 hours.

I agree....... i did say after all, "which to be fair is not bad....." Its just a little disappointing because when i got 8h30mins i thought the phone was a god haha Since then i turned location off and iam using darker/black wallpapers to see could i stretch the battery even further but iam now getting less :( although i did up the brightness a little so maybe that 20% jump in brightness (even though its kept on auto) is using alot more battery then i would of thought!!

Well. That's good what you've gotten.

Out of curiosity . . . . Iam currently on 45% with 1d 2h usage (screen on time is 2h58mins) My top battery drainers are my screen 17% , device idle 4% , cell standby 3% and android system 3% .

Does that seem normal or is device idle and cell standby using more power then it should be?

Most people are complaining of high cell standby which I think is a lollipop issue. Your numbers actually look really good. I only see cell standby when on WiFi, but I still get good battery life.

I always leave wifi on and today i was outside for a little bit with no wifi connection but it was still turned on so maybe thats why iam seeing cell standby??

I usually see a few % of cell standby. When its an issue it'll eat 10%+.

I wouldnt be happy with that at all! Have you made any tweaks like reducing brightness, turning off features you dont need etc ?

Oh...just about everything you can do. I've had my S6 for 2 months now...Google Now is off, location services is off, most Google services synching off, haptic feedback off, widgets all removed at this point, brightness way down, many apps disabled, NFC is off, all edge services are off, all motion services disabled, WiFi calling is disabled, VoLTE is disabled, etc.

Truly wondering what the point of having an Android phone is at this point if you have to do all these things only to still have horrendous battery life. Be grateful for your battery life - even with your pretty big drop, it's still definitely more than acceptable. I'd give anything for that!
