I think it would be cool if when you fired a burster, if an opposing team player was in the area of the blast, they would get hit and lose XM points from your shot. It would make it interesting...you could take out players trying to take out your portals.

Stats screen. Time wasted, mileage, resonators taken out/deployed, link distances, control field areas. EMP pulse weapons to take out the enemy. :) Some sort of notification alert system to ping players on your side.

How about 5 or 6 teams instead of just two? Sometimes when you hack a portal it doesn't give up any items- it should say why...Screen map should have option to point in the way you are walking and adjust as you go...

If you can't attack on your own, you need to find someone on your team, and go out with them and get them to help you level up. Farming for AP is literally a waste of time and gas, in comparison to what you could be earning for AP by letting the big guys take out portals, and then you can fill them up ( it's about 2,000 AP).....and then they upgrade it.If they have keys, they can drop some, and you can make links for 313 AP for each one, and if you complete a field, that's another 1500-ish, so the potential is high if you're with the right players. Everybody wins that way, it's in your team's best interests to help get the lower level players levelling up as quickly as possible.

Flipping through all of my keys is a PITA. I'd like to be able to rearrange them and possibly make folders so I can group the ones that are close together, or divide them by city quadrant or city communities. If I know where the action is roughly, then I can stay on top of those portals a little easier.

Might also be nice if your effective range was bigger than usual while in your own team's fields and smaller than usual while in the enemy's fields.

Interesting, but I didn't explain properly. I meant the maximum distance you can be from a portal to carry out actions like hacking or placing resonators. I've found one which is very hard to get near and a bit of extra range would be helpful.

Your blue circle is your range. There is no way to make that 35m or 100feet any larger. There are rules on portals, and if you find one that fits into one of these categories, as a beta tester, you should be reporting this to Google here: New Portal Submissions - Ingress Help

Reporting an Issue with a Portal
  • Portal(s) in an inaccessible, private or dangerous location
  • Portal(s) without photos
  • Duplicate portals
  • Overlapping portals
  • Portal(s) located in the wrong place
  • Other portal issue

Personally I think a 70 meter...200 foot diameter circle should be more than ample. There are some tricky ones downtown here, mainly due to GPS bounce, but there are some circumstances where I wish it were smaller. For example when you attack a portal that has several other portals in close proximity, if you are attacking a specific portal and happen to attack an adjacent portal, both portals retaliate, and cause double damage. A level 6 player holds 8,000 XP, I've been hit with 2,500 damage from one attack on a level 7 portal (which is the highest you can be attacked). So essentially, you could be "killed" in 4 attacks, which means running around and refilling your meter, which takes time. Time is precious when battle reports are lighting up in ALL chat, and whoever's resonators are getting destroyed are getting emails. The last thing you want is somebody getting tipped off, racing down to your location and waiting until you destroy the last resonator, and then they fill up all 8 slots. Easy AP for them, wasted ammo for you....not to mention frustrating. Even if you're fast, sometimes after you destroy the last one, it seems the game hangs for a bit, and that's all the time they need.

I there an official forum aside from this one :) that is monitored by Niantic? I have lots of feedback but want it to go to the right place. It is not gameplay per se but interface options that should be cooked into the software. How about a volume control - yes, we can mute but I would like to listen to music while I am hunting/trolling or gaining XM. Also, when we fire XMP, can we have the option to decide what level we fire? Why waste higher level weapons when you can use up the lower levels and clean up your tray? Also, i am thinking that more than two teams would be nice, and perhaps necessary once the game goes public and everything fills up. Comments?

If you tap the "Ops" button at the top right and scroll along to the "Device" button, it will give you options for altering the volume of the background, effects and speech. Hopefully that should let you turn down the sound in Ingress without affecting your music.

Thanks, guess I won't uninstall just yet.

Open up your inventory, choose which burster you want to fire, and press FIRE. It's slower than the long press, but if saving your higher level bursters is what you want to achieve, then this is the way to do it.

A few of us were talking in the chat about how control fields should give all those who have a resonator or link credit, and that you should get some kind of time AP credit. Maybe a time bonus for keeping a control field alive every 12 hours or something like that. Nothing large, but definitely an incentive.

Also, it would be nice to have enemy portals underneath a control field decay faster, while friend portals decay slower. Again, more incentive to destroy enemy fields and deploy your own.

Lastly, XM would be decreased for enemies underneath your control field, and be more plentiful for the deploying team. But I think that might give higher level portals with high shields too much of an advantage if you cannot find enough XM to power your XMP bursters. Imagine a LV8 player trying to take down a LV8 portal...you lose soo much XM that you would only be able to fire a few bursters before having a red screen of death!
