First of all, Sorry for my English! (If I make a mistake)

So, let me tell you the story. Today at school I put my phone on my backpack and the side of the phone got some chocolate.

In that part :)

So I said omg, I have to cleaned it up so I grabbed a piece of paper for cleaning it and then I pushed the chocolate in and I was like

What happened is that also the paper came into the screen like this (Demonstration with a Post-It)

But in the other side I wans't able to introduce the paper

So I stayed like

And I wanted to share it with you and try to know if the problem is just in my phone because of fallings or maybe it's happening with more phones :o

Also I'm afraid of dirt or water entering by that hole :-

Don't know?
Just don't go near water or any fluid
It's looks like the waterproof seal is broke

This post got into my attention and checked my S10+ ceramic and my wife’s s10+ as well and looks like you can insert a paper on both of them on the right side where the power button is located, not only next tomthe button but on all of that side.

Checked mine..... No Gap

I am late but its not a defect. My S8, A8+, A7 2018, A50 and my S10+ have the gap around casing too and no it doesnt affect the water resistivity of the device. I have seen the screen modules of s8 and even if you send paper inside.. it will stop a certain point.. there is a barrier inside which prevents it from going inside. It is even mentioned in the user manual. On my S10+, A7 2018 and A50, I could even push the nail inside from one of the corners at back side.

I think every phone I've owned has this, including iPhones. Bugs me because stuff gets in there all the time. I imagine this is also there to help when the phone heats up and things start to expand.

Don't have this on my Samsung like the OP

Posts like these have been around as far as I can remember. Gaps are normal tolerances and are present for expansion and contraction reasons.
