GB and launchers

i'm running the recently released GB and tried to re-install ADW EX and it LAGS horribly.
anybody having this issue?
any fix?

how are other (non stock) launchers doing?

I'm in the process of installing rooted GB right now. When i get up and running i'll update with how my LP+ is doing.

also noticed the lag, seems to mostly be in switching screens.. menus and app drawer are still smooth

using ADW EX btw

LP+ is running smooth and mostly stable for me. The only hiccup is that the 3D app drawer is pretty unstable (studdering like crazy when scrolling and when you try to scroll again it jumps to the top) so I switched to 2D. I should note that I haven't run the recent update, though - perhaps that'll stablize it.

Havent tried ADW or LP+ because I am surprised at the smoothness of the stock blur launcher but I plan on giving it a shot soon.

My ADW and LauncherPro were both lagging like CRAZY too. I tried everything...I think I finally noticed that if I left DroidOverclock and GoogleVoice widgets off, it stopped. But ugh. I have spent all day trying to fix this. I love the new Blur and all, but I can't deal without my custom launchers! I've just recently started using ADW, and went back to LauncherPro to see if it was better, since I know they released bug fixes for GB, and no luck. I did get it to stop eventually, but I have no idea how. It'll probably start up again.

i think i've found the "fix"
(this is for adw ex, idk about lp)

when i installed GB, i just restored adw from backup and also restored my settings.

i got the horrible lag of course.

so later, i installed root explorer and proceeded to clean out all the bloat including blur home.

I re-installed adw ex FRESH and did not re-store any settings or saved desktops.
(i did this before i removed blur home fyi)

so i filled up 5 screens and things were nice and smooth.
I added my 2 other screens and proceeded to add a widget and bam.. right back to the lag.

so I rebooted.. things where smooth..
tried to add a widget to the 7th screen and got the lag again.
I rebooted and things were smooth.

so it seems for me, every time i add a widget, i need to reboot and then things are fine.

crappy way to do it, but it seems to be working. once you get your desktop setup the way you want, you can probably just let run until we get a fix for this issue.

I think you're right about the rebooting...obnoxious, but better than nothing. I also noticed ADW seems to especially hate the new Blur Widgets. Hopefully will be a fix soon!

My ADW is working fine. I did do a reinstall after the GB update though. I even restored my previous settings and all is fine.

Note: I replaced the ADW launcher with a shortcut to the Blur App tray and then just changed the icon to my normal launcher icon. It's great because I still get the new Blur app try that lets me organize my apps, but I don't have to deal with the Blur homescreen failures (4 icons at bottom, can't hide notification bar, etc). I know ADW lets you organize the apps too, but it doens't label which group you are in.

My ADW is working fine with the new Rooted GB. No issues or lag since I installed it last night.

+1 No problems here either, this Ginger is a blast. I will concede though that I have no Blur on any of my screens, Facebook, Twidroid, widgets doing it for me now. Oh, running ADW EX.

If I may chime in, Im using LPP and it was laggy for me too but did smooth out once I went from 7 to 5 screens and kept all my widgets on the same page and made that my "homepage". Now I can use the 3-d app drawer and its awesome,lol. Scrolling thru screens fast as lightning and all widgets/apps are working ok. Maybe less screens set up certain ways for now is the key.

2.Power AMP widget, picture frame widget
3.Simple calendar widget, Pandora widget, Switch Pro Widget
4.Main Screen: Beautiful Weather 4x1, BobClock, BattStatt 4x1
5.ADW Ex Honeycomb Google Search Bar widget, 5 Contact Blur Widgets
6.Android Central Widget, Picture Frame, ESPN Widget, WatchDog Lite
7.Pulse Widget

I have owned LLP and ADWEX for so long I am bored to tears with them. Going to rock blur for awhile, love the change from the old.

After installing the new GB Deodexed, rooted version I have not experienced any problems with ADW EX. I have some blur widgets on my screens and it not lagging as it did previously.

no lags over here with GB rooted and ADW EX. I'm lucky I guess.

Little update: on Drod's BlurryBread I'm getting MUCH less ADW lag. Could have been the reset too, who knows, but just fyi.
