Has anyone been able to install the rooted GB without ending up in a boot loop requiring a system wipe? I'm about to attempt my 4th try at GB. Is there a trick to avoid the boot loop?

Did you have Preroot installed? If so you'd have to SBF before flashing the new rooted version.

If not but you were on 340, rooted, and using a custom rom. Then you MUST WIPE DATA AND CACHE!!! You will guarantee boot loops if not.

You can enter factory restore and wipe data cache there then reboot an the boot loops will go away.

Nope, didn't get around to trying pre-root. Was too busy to get to it.
I had 340 rooted, but not custom rom.

I think i just got it to work though. I sbf'd back to froyo, rooted, installed the apps that weren't showing up in the GB market, adn then updated to rooted GB. It boot looped a few times. I did a battery pull and it seems to be OK now. I do have the persistent "sync" arrows that others have mentioned, but I can live with that for now.

It loaded on my device without issues,
Follow these directions carefully.

To get back to stock:

1. Grab the SBF File
You must start the process with your phone running the official 2.3.20. If you have already upgraded to gingerbread grab this 2.3.20 sbf file .... Download

2. Grab RSDlite
You must use RSDLite to use the sbf file from step 1 .... RSDLite

3. Grab the Drivers Drivers ....

4. Run RSDLite and sbf your phone back to 2.3.20
