Gboard swiping issue

I use the Google keyboard instead of the LG board as I am more familiar with it. One problem I have is that sometimes if my finger is too close to the keys that swiping feature is enabled and it starts popping up words that I had no intention of using and I have to back space to delete them and start all over. Does anyone know if it is possible to disable that feature so that it only responds to taps on the letters? I couldn't find any settings for it.

Open the gboard app, you will see 'glide typing'. Switch it all off.

Actually if you go into gboard keyboard settings, then glide typing, there's a toggle for enabling glide typing. Just to that to off, and you should be good to go.

i got the gboard cuz of the themes but it works on everything except on kik it gets an error when trying to send gifs and stuff built into the gbaord
