Does anyone elses one handed keyboard not reach the bottom? I cannot for the life of me get it to go to the bottom if the screen...

Yes, I’ve noticed this too. Full sized keyboard goes right to the bottom but the one handed one does not, very annoying.

Is it the same for everyone?

in setting of the keyboard select preference then layout believe you can change the hight or can use floating keyboard

With and without one-handed mode on...

It might not be a bug as much as a way to get us prepared for the future......we know in the next couple years 7 inch phones will be the norm, so Google making the one handed mode FARTHER away is their way of getting us used to stretching our puny digits out to meet the next wave of phone technology :-D

Heck in the next few years we'll have 10 year olds palming basketballs thanks to Google ;-)

Only an issue on the pixel as far as I can tell, fine on a note 9 and G7

Thankfully I have the smaller Pixel 3 and one handing the full sized keyboard is a joy.

Speaking of GBoard, am I the only one having this issue?

Let's say I swipe out "some" - for some reason, GBoard always thinks I want "dinner" and inserts that word into my text stream. But, up there in the word bar is "some" and I tap that with the intent that "dinner" will be replaced with "some".

Sometimes, this works. Other times it will take the first letter of some and add it to the end of dinner producing dinners. And, yet other times, it will replace dinner with some totally nonsense word.

What's up with that?

The whole reason I've never used Gboard - when the predicted word, based on what I've typed, is shown in the middle I want to be able to just press the Spacebar and have that word inserted; I don't want to have to reach up there to select every damn word that I'm typing - defeats the whole point. So even though SwiftKey has its quirks (like predicting random numbers) I still use it for that reason.

Actually, I find that if the word I want pops up while swiping, all that I need to do is lift my finger briefly and the rest of the word will fill in for me.

So, if I start to swipe out "morni", morning will appear and I simply raise my finger (as if to start a new word) and morning will automatically complete itself.

If course, not everyone uses GBoard in swipe mode ..
