Gear 1 vs gear neo 2

Hi all,

Just wondering. I moved from a galaxy gear 1 V700 to a neo 2 R381. Straight away I noticed the neo 2 has a very very quiet speaker in comparison to the gear 1. During phone calls its pointless even using it sounds like other person is whispering. Only reason I upgraded was as the neo 2 black appealed to me in looks more and feels much lighter and normal to wear.

I purchased another neo 2 off ebay and that was the same, very quiet speaker.

Is this just a coincidental issue with the 2 of my neo 2 or is this how they are?

Have you tried to adjust the volumes on the devices?

Double-Tap with 2 fingers a and a menu appears that allows you to adjust a few things, volume is one and see if you can turn it up.

I have mine at 5 and it is plenty loud enough.

Yes its on max 6 volume

I routinely use my Gear 2 Neo for phone calls and have no problem hearing. I usually have my watch set for vibrate notification and not sound. I don’t know which volume setting works for phone calls, but all of mine are set to zero except for multimedia which is set at the maximum of 15. Are you sure your's has a maximum of only 6?

I've tried cleaning it and all sorts. Even opened it and cleaned out the speaker still nothing. Ended up cutting and removing the rubber grill area around the speaker part, has made a very slight difference, but not enough to keep using the neo 2. Back to gear 1 i guess won't see myself going for the gear 2 next, looks similar to the gear 1 . Wanted the neo 2 simply for its black slim looks.
