Gear 2 and Google play

So I am wondering if the new gear will work with Google play? If so I am totally sold.

My understanding is that since the Gear 2 works on the Tizen system you need to go to Samsung Apps instead of Google Play. Samsung has just announced an incentive to attract developers to work on additional apps for the Tizen system so hopefully before long Gear apps will be plentiful.
