My gear 3 will no longer connect remotely to my Galaxy S10+. I believe it did originally after I updated to this phone, but it no longer does. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this same issue since it might have happened after the last update which broke contact syncing and Samsung Pay. The Wear app is set to allow remote connections.

I tried to talk to Samsung support but it was an exercise in futility and I don't believe the rep ever saw a gear watch. She kept wanting me to reset things, which I have done. When i asked 3 times to check if this was a known issue after from the last update she proceeds to try to tell me an update can't break anything and it only does good for the user! HA! I wish I had the rep who helped me with the Samsung pay issue who called me back a week after to tell me that a new update was available which fixed it.

I use the gear s3 classic and frontier and have auto switch set up. On my S9 it was flawless until PIE...now when i switch watches the auto switch does not work and have to manually re connect each time...
Worst part is that i was part of the beta test AND IDENTIFIED THIS BUT NO ONE AT SAMMY LISTENED

Mine had some issues syncing contacts. I had to clear the cache on the phone app and reset the watch. Then applying a previous backup I had. It was a mess. There are a few threads on the S3 forum with some other fixes I think.

We Galaxy Watch owners are having the same problem:

https://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-watch/952375-standalone.html#post6514127

My Wearable app was last updated February 14 and this problem only started over the weekend. Guessing it's Samsung's servers rather than the app, though I could be wrong about this. Either way, it's frustrating because Samsung or carrier customer support will just tell you to reset your watch and reinstal a bunch of apps, but really the only "solution" is to wait for Samsung to drag their heels and fix this.

If I am understanding your issue, I have it too. My watch connected via BT or celluar with my S8 and hasn't since I got my S10+. Installed fine and it works fine with BT but if I turn off BT on either the phone or the watch they are not connected even the though watch says remotely connected. I do seem to get calls, but never texts or anything else.

Wow, very odd. This seems to be different than my issue. My Galaxy Watched worked just fine with the Galaxy S10+ until this weekend. It does NOT say they are remotely connected, and will not get calls either.

That said it never got calls, since remote connection doesn't forward calls unless you get T-Mobile DIGITS, AT&T NumberSync, etc. Which I didn't sign up for since it costs money and isn't too useful to me. I was always able to get texts and notifications though, until this weekend.
