Samsung pay is announced to be coming to the Gear S2, NFC only, but has not been enabled yet. Will require a firmware update.

Yup, the official page for the S2 watch does say it will support Samsung Pay eventually... but I haven't seen it come out yet. Good to know! Just remember that, like tstreete says, it will only work with NFC terminals, not Magnetic Stripe ones like the newer phones do.

But as of today, and at least from the info from the Samsung Pay service, it's only working on phones right now.

I contacted Samsung through Chat today about S-Pay on Gear S2. The rep knew nothing. In December they told me it is coming in 2016. If you go to NFC on watch menu under connectivity you can see where it will be. I would really like to see it working soon. My son has an apple watch and brags that his works...I say yep, but you have to have NFC for your Apple phone, I can use MSRW with my Samsung! Hurry Samsung, activate NFC Payments on Gear S2 3G!!!

I spoke to Samsung Pay Rep today who said that the S2 Samsung pay is being beta tested in the field as of March 5th and will be available soon. I hope so because it was a selling point and one of the reasons why I purchased the watch. Which BTW I am not impressed with. I have a S1 and it is IMO a better device.

Is it only for the 3g version or for wifi model as well?

The gear s2 will actually support samsung pay with nfc not mst samsung just hasnt released the update on it yet it got delayed. If u google it youll see articles on it.
