I received my S2 3G yesterday. I'm very impressed with the volume/speaker. This watch (after tons of research) is everything I expected (other than no Samsung pay until 1st Q of 16). Love it. Needs more apps, wish the screen & battery was bigger and I need a bigger band for my oger wrists.
Any questions I'd be happy to answer as best I can.

Congrats! Can you post a few pictures with it on your wrist? Also, is the S2 3g sharing the same phone number with your mobile? I assume you have the AT&T version.

My last Gear S and Gear 2 both supported contact list. I received my Verizon 3g S2 last night has only buddy list or do you know how to get all contacts? Also I have limited connectivity at work killed battery in 3 hours. So all turn off the mobile data. Sending back if contacts will not show. 11 buddies not good for work.:)

contacts are on the Phone app. After launching Phone app, tap the orange icon with the white person silhouette at the top of screen. Your contacts from your phone should already be synced, or it will sync then. Should also have your call log.

Not on My s2 3g software version. however shows when logged into my gear 2 neo. I have two watches paired on same gear app however the tabs are totally different for each watch. s gear and gear 2 and neo use/have a different set of options.Screenshot_2015-11-11-15-15-59.jpg

I wasn't talking about the phone app. Did you check the Phone app on the watch? And tap the orange person icon at the top.

I don't see how to post pictures on this site. ?
I have verizon. The setup was simple and all my contacts are there. Svoice works as well as on my phone (Note 5). The battery gets drained very quickly when using a 3G signal without the phone.
I have huge wrists so I'm on the last hole of the large wrist bands. The watch itself looks like a normal sized watch (maybe a bit small) on my wrist. Feels very comfortable when on long walks and it's nice not to have to have my phone in my pocket.
I can send pics to your email if you'd like.....I just don't see a picture option on here.

O. I have a different phone number for the watch. Everything is forwarded from my phone (at the same time my phone rings my watch rings) and you have an option to show your phones number instead of the watches number when making calls.

Yes. If you're going to use it as a stand alone devise (which is why it's made you'd think) then the battery won't last all day which is sad. I'm sure it has to do with how good your signal is and how often it searches for service. Also how many apps are using data in the background. When I have my phone with me all day the watch battery does fine but alone it's not good. Unfortunately even taking the straps off and setting it on my phone's wireless charger didn't work either so you'd have to take the watches charger to work or elsewhere to recharge. A bigger watch with a bigger battery would work well for me.
I can't seem to post pics even on the app version here.....it keeps crashing.

Under setting, choose "call". 2nd option is "outgoing number". You can choose either watch # or phones #.

Can someone confirm if all notifications are capable of producing a sound om the 3g not just a vibration. Particularly interested if texts can have sound notifications, but curious about most.

In the watch settings go into SOUND and choose SOUND MODE then choose SOUND. Then back out and adjust VOLUME and adjust for each category by scrolling over.

Can you advise if when either making or receiving a call directly on the watch....are you able to easily transfer it to a bluetooth device that is paired to the phone....say for example...you started a call on your watch while sitting on the couch and you want to know continue the call using a headset connected to your phone...I know the original Gear S had an option during the call to do this..

I didn't really want two know how to adjust sounds, I want to know if text messages can have sound notifications. I suspect yes, but just want to know for sure.

I'm sorry. Yes, you can receive a sound notification for text messages, assuming you have the 3G model.
