Gear S2 and Galaxy Watch charging stand

Is the charging stand for the Gear S2 and the Galaxy Watch the same? I currently have the Gear S2 and Santa is bringing me a Galaxy Watch. I know the new watch will come with a new stand. But can I use the S2 stand with the Galaxy watch? I'd like to keep an extra stand in my office.

This one states its is ONLY suitable for Galaxy watch, suggesting it is a unique charger.

Seems relatively cheap to get for an office spare anyway.

I tested it out for a little bit today on my S2 charger and it worked.

My Galaxy Watch charges on my Gear S2 stand. My Gear S2 does not charge on my Galaxy Watch stand.

When I put my Galaxy Watch on my Gear S2 stand I received a notification to use the original charger. I did leave it there for a bit and charging was slow or it even stopped charging. The charger itself was plugged into a USB hub that is plugged into an AC outlet. Maybe the new Galaxy charger is a higher wattage? I have a 42mm LTE version Galaxy Watch.

Yeah that happens to me too. For some reason my Gear S2 cradle works when it's plugged into my computer. Strangely, my Gear S3 charger, when plugged into a wall, heats up my Galaxy Watch and does not charge it efficiently (which is why I don't use it).
