Gear S2 vs. Pebble Round question

I've been using the S2 Classic (non 3G) since it was introduced. Overall, I like the features and the look of the watch. What's not to like? The vibration is just not strong enough, usually, to get my attention. (If someone could come up with an app to pulse the vibration, I think that would help, and I'd gladly pay for it.)

I've been considering the Pebble Time Round, wondering if it might be better in that regard. I've also noticed that several posters here have also posted in the Pebble forums, and would love to hear their opinions, or opinions from anyone else with Pebble experience.

I know the S2 has a prettier screen (which doesn't stay on long enough, IMO) and offers more features, but none of that really matters to me if I don't notice the notifications.

Thanks in advance!

You will probably find the Pebble Round vibration to be a little stronger than the S2, but not much. The other Pebbles have very strong vibrations, but the Round is the weakest of them.

Incidentally, the Pebble Round probably offers more features than the S2. Just not half as pretty! :-)

Thanks for the response. The latest firmware update (yesterday) has addressed a couple of my problems with the S2, but the weak vibration wasn't one of them. I may still give the Pebble Round a shot, easy enough to return it if it doesn't work for me.

I went ahead and tried out a Pebble Round for a few days, and it's heading back.

The vibration, IMO, is no stronger than the S2. Maybe just a tad, but still not what I'm looking for. It does have the option, through apps, to use vibration patterns, but I'm afraid the rest of the watch just didn't appeal to me.

The S2 is my first smartwatch, and I'm probably spoiled by the bezel/swiping navigation of it. The Round is all about buttons, all over the watch. Very awkward, for me.

While I liked that it's thin and compact, at the same time it just didn't feel like a serious watch. The leather band is a single ply of what feels more like a rubbery plastic than leather.

I knew the display wouldn't be as nice as the S2, but since it's always on, I figured I could live with that. Yes, it's always on, but the ambient mode is a bit of a pain to read, especially any fine print that might be used. Also, it takes a hard shake of the arm to turn the backlight on.

As most people here know, the recent update from Samsung has made the (non-3G) S2 much easier to live with, so I'll do that. Still hoping that some devs take a look at vibration patterns.
