I picked up the S3 last night to use with my Pixel XL and Project Fi. So far I'm pretty happy with it except for the lack of useful apps. It works well with the Pixel and I'm able to use Samsung Pay (primary reason for buying this). I missed Samsung Pay when I left the big carriers but hated AT&T, Verizon more than you can imagine and Tmobile is weak in my area. I had Sprint for years and that is not even a consideration.

Anyway, the only thing that I would really like to use is a custom ringtone as I have used them for years. I can't find any way to do my own ringtone on the S3. Is that because is there is no way to have one or am I missing something?

I'm not familiar with the Pixel phone but if you can go to the google play store there is an app called custom ringtone. I believe it's $1.00. I wanted to do the same thing and use a custom ringtone on my Gear S3. It's easy to use and it will allow you to customize your ringtone. I used the app and was able to customize my ringtone on my Gear S3

Thanks for the response! BTW, the S3 works great with the Pixel. Only had the S3 for a little over a day now but it's doing what I needed it to do and doing it well.

thanks Got it

hi sir, was it under playstore or under galaxy appstore?

1. Go to the Google Play Store
2. Type in custom ringtone
3. The app should be the first one that comes up. The name of the seller is Claybikeltd. You must install this app on your phone. The app is free.
4. You also have to install this app on your Gear S3. To do that go to the Galaxy Apps store and tap Gear on the far right and then type in custom ringtone
5. Tap Gear again and it should be the only one listed. The name of the seller is Le Hoang. The app on the Google Play Store is free but in the Galaxy Apps store you have to pay $0.99 if you want to use the app
6. Once you've bought the app and installed it you just have to follow the directions. I highly recommend watching the video. It helped me out a lot

There is a simpler app in the Samsung Gear store called "Change ringtone" that does the job perfectly.
