Gear S3 Configuration

Good morning all,
I am one of the masses with Verizon waiting for the S3 actually thinking of going to AT&T. My question is has anyone tried backing up there gear S2 and restoring to the S3? As I don't yet have the S3 I am not sure if they are completely different profiles or not.

I backed up my Gear S2 before selling it to my Samsung account but my apps didn't autodownload on my Gear S3 when I ran the Restore function. The Restore did restore certain watch settings though.
