I have not used Google Assistant for months, Alexa is the default assistant on my phone and that is only so i can turn my coffee machine or heating on when I am on my way home.
I normally use Duck Duck go for searching even on my Android phone.

Assistant? Gemini? Wanna bet Google will have something "all new and improved" by next year and bury these pointless playthings in the ever-growing Google Graveyard where they belong?

All I need is voice activated dialing, which requires no cloud access and no AI, but Google makes the choice to force us to these nuisance services to have such a basic function. I miss the days of my Motorola Droid Bionic that could do this without needing an Internet connection or AI.
