I started using gemini since the one ui7 update. Two questions, gemini seems a lot slower to respond than hey Google. And correct in this assumption? And now that I'm using gemini, should I delete Google voice?

My issue with Gemini was that it would give me the wrong answer, or couldn't do the thing I asked. Some of the same things I'd asked Assistant and Assistant could do.

Anyway, it's probably not your imagination. All these AI features are cloud based. There was talk of the being a setting that would restrict the AI to the device/locally. If the device does whatever you ask, it might be a little faster but it's also limiting. But yeah, sending it off device and waiting for a response, probably can notice a slight delay, maybe longer at times depending on Internet connection...

Just to be sure Gemini says,

To turn off cloud-based AI features on your S24 Ultra and process data only on the device, navigate to Settings, tap Galaxy AI, and then enable the toggle for "Process data only on device". This will disable all AI features that rely on cloud processing and ensure all AI operations are performed locally on your phone. [1, 2]
Here's a more detailed breakdown: [1]

1. Open Settings: Access your phone's settings menu. [1]
2. Navigate to Galaxy AI: Within the settings, find and tap on the "Galaxy AI" option. [1, 2]
3. Enable "Process data only on device": Locate the toggle switch labeled "Process data only on device" and turn it on. This will ensure that all AI features are processed locally, without relying on the cloud. [1, 2]
4. Disable specific AI features: You can also disable individual AI features within the Galaxy AI settings by toggling them off. This allows you to selectively turn off cloud-based AI operations for specific functions. [1]

Let us know if it's faster.
