Gentle Alarm Night Display screeb burn prevention

I love the Gentle Alarm app. However, there's one option that doesn't seem to work on my stock rooted HTC TB. Night screen has a screen burn prevention option. It will move the image on the screen. I use my TB as a night stand clock and an alarm. Any ideas how to make this option work? Will a static image damage my screen?
